Concrete Safety Manager Refresher -
on January 1st 2009 the NYC Department of buildings began to require Concrete Safety Managers
(CSM) to be placed on all major building sites in order to supervise the concrete portion of building projects. This course is designated toward workers who are seeking to obtain a concrete safety managers license. Persons applying for this course should have 5 years of construction supervising experience involving the placement of at least 2,000 cubic yards of concrete. This course is a 30-hour in-person course approved by the NYC department of buildings. Our course has been developed by experienced instructors and will be taught using a combination of video's, power point presentations, hands-on evaluations and lectures. During this course participants will review the NYC building code 3300, NYC Department of Buildings local laws and OSHA code 1926. This course is intended to prepare individuals to use safe work practices when working in NYC building projects where 2000 cubic yards of concrete are being poured.
Students must have already completed the 30-Hour Concrete Safety Manager course in order to eligible to take the concrete manager refresher.
- Understand and enforce New York City Building Code 3300 rules on safety during construction related to concrete operations.
- Understand and inspect equipment and plans used for safely conducting concrete and masonry operations.
- Understand and enforce OSHA regulation for the safe placement of concrete and masonry.
